First the potty and now a "big boy bed"! While we were on vacation in Florida (I'll post about that trip later) he climbed out of his pack and play one morning and was so proud that he "got out by myself!!". He didn't climb out again until yesterday at <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">nap time</span>. I heard him when he woke up and went in to get him a few minutes later and he was already standing on the floor. Then he wanted me to put him in his crib so that he could climb back out by himself over and over. I had already been thinking about switching him to a toddler bed so we decided to go ahead and do it last night. Jason got home and converted the crib to a toddler bed and then we went to Target to pick out some bedding. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span> chose Lightning McQueen cars bedding. He was so excited after he picked it out that he was showing all the Target employees what he had and telling them about his new bed. On the way to the checkout counter he kept saying, "I tired, I sleepy, I need to go to bed". I was worried that he might not stay in his bed after I put him in it but he only got up one time to ask for some water! It was sweet to have him come into my room and wake me up this morning. He said, "Mama, I got up by myself!!". When I put him down for his nap he got up twice before he went to sleep. Once to use the potty and once to ask for some medicine (he has a molar coming in). Tonight when I put him to bed he didn't get up at all! <br />The potty training is going really well! The only times that he hasn't made it to the potty today were when he was sleeping and when we were at K-mart. The K-mart thing was probably my fault. I didn't remind him to go because I didn't want to have to deal with the public bathroom when I was by myself with two kids. But we did go out to dinner tonight and he told me that he needed to use the potty and made it without even wetting his pull-up! I have been very proud of him. We bought his first pair of big boy underwear this morning and he has worn them around the house. They are Bob the Builder underwear. I got the smallest size they had (2T) and they are about to fall off of him. First of all, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Jayden</span> has officially started using the potty! He went naked from the waist down most of the day yesterday and used the potty what seemed like about 500 times. He even went twice all by himself when I was feeding Brody! He still doesn't make it every time but he is doing really well!<br /><br />Yesterday was also a big day for Brody. We moved the bassinet out of our bedroom and he started sleeping in the crib in his room last night. I am enjoying having our room back but I am also waking up more often than I was when he was sleeping right beside me because I feel like I need to go check on him. He is sleeping at least four hours at a time now, sometimes longer. We seem to be working towards a schedule and that makes me very happy!<br /><br />On a different note, I got a call from <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Jayden's</span> preschool teacher today. He will be going two days a week for three hours a day starting in September. I have been dreading it because I know it is going to be a difficult transition for him. I felt a little better after talking to her because she sounds really nice and she seems like she might be one of the "fun" teachers. I'm hoping it will be a good experience for him and something that he will eventually look forward to, but I'm expecting those first couple of weeks to be hard for both of us!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-10130497038039442142009-08-10T10:03:00.001-07:002009-08-10T10:43:37.620-07:00And then there were four...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_HVjj1CWiHojcPuhY4K73iXpY0HWxESMiuxb7FlLdS6cM-WiDGK0KniH8EJQkplv1-PYGg3s5Eyj4bcsDmVyhPJ1whVKGrGvnV_3IHIZJoZWY-3acEpNM7mP1O1iwoTM-2s1dpYSap40/s1600-h/DSC02842.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368383360339574370" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_HVjj1CWiHojcPuhY4K73iXpY0HWxESMiuxb7FlLdS6cM-WiDGK0KniH8EJQkplv1-PYGg3s5Eyj4bcsDmVyhPJ1whVKGrGvnV_3IHIZJoZWY-3acEpNM7mP1O1iwoTM-2s1dpYSap40/s320/DSC02842.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9l0Q8j1_Me-xeuGXkQ_Z9j_qg7Ig3s3Ng56qoeBfcKmQ0j1g_rGjxEYTPIp-AcU5Ap9ODyBaz0v56x3GbnLv_q2I4hkxyYdUXlW1yYHZiZzRP3RWZxgAnoTkwfjyWJiBRBui3vkMdUwc/s1600-h/DSC02846.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368383357022513490" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9l0Q8j1_Me-xeuGXkQ_Z9j_qg7Ig3s3Ng56qoeBfcKmQ0j1g_rGjxEYTPIp-AcU5Ap9ODyBaz0v56x3GbnLv_q2I4hkxyYdUXlW1yYHZiZzRP3RWZxgAnoTkwfjyWJiBRBui3vkMdUwc/s320/DSC02846.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimaxe3bOxnKX-IUz90YFe8jOu5MKTo1n4y4mgJJ821QSyCMUj7m3hAsddGyQWSlxzKu_WeKOvyKcje-vJ7PBONz0LiaU2AYu5sEhRVfZKrNO5eFpm8ys8YPdrlPkptd52-k64g7pRMvI4/s1600-h/DSC02852.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368383350461914706" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimaxe3bOxnKX-IUz90YFe8jOu5MKTo1n4y4mgJJ821QSyCMUj7m3hAsddGyQWSlxzKu_WeKOvyKcje-vJ7PBONz0LiaU2AYu5sEhRVfZKrNO5eFpm8ys8YPdrlPkptd52-k64g7pRMvI4/s320/DSC02852.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKp2s9Ha-KClR-wHNDzW6c9eanSDJ_fZj-FJ6_HSF0FI9ebSWMg39CxjpCddbsnBtmqgs10Fc47vVQkvMls1ja3RlgU9FmsdZTy0LSTpcrDh_yzTumyeqMNhPV9UDXR3Ld-GHne6pSph0/s1600-h/DSC02859.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368383346465547666" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKp2s9Ha-KClR-wHNDzW6c9eanSDJ_fZj-FJ6_HSF0FI9ebSWMg39CxjpCddbsnBtmqgs10Fc47vVQkvMls1ja3RlgU9FmsdZTy0LSTpcrDh_yzTumyeqMNhPV9UDXR3Ld-GHne6pSph0/s320/DSC02859.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyugVMzO_jTwQzKNpR9gYgSM2gwO8PjG0ykUl0Ae1i5goouhxFNV4ohePvWG_eqy9URP_HhmFOw_PmfRgEWzNUf9n70QBoxAeX2LTlNf2KtVS2zCbuVYmYsQY45djFswER5JOm8D9VMOM/s1600-h/DSC02863.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368383341819323442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyugVMzO_jTwQzKNpR9gYgSM2gwO8PjG0ykUl0Ae1i5goouhxFNV4ohePvWG_eqy9URP_HhmFOw_PmfRgEWzNUf9n70QBoxAeX2LTlNf2KtVS2zCbuVYmYsQY45djFswER5JOm8D9VMOM/s320/DSC02863.JPG" /></a><br /><br />It is so hard to believe that we have been a family of four for three months now! Brody Clay Jones was born May 9 at 4:10 in the morning. I started having small contractions on Thursday morning and got progressively more uncomfortable as the day and night wore on. I decided to call my parents early Friday morning so that we could go on to the hospital. We got to triage about 6:00 in the morning. They checked me and I hadn't made any progress since my doctor's appointment on Wednesday (I was still at a two). So they had me walk around for an hour and then checked again. There was no change so they gave me a shot of pain medication and told me to go home and go to sleep. The doctor told me that I should be able to get a few solid hours of sleep and that if I woke up and the contractions were gone that it was just false labor. The medication took the edge off the pain but that's about it. I got about an hour of fitful sleep and then the pain started getting worse. I labored all afternoon and the pain was getting worse but my contractions were still not in a regular pattern. Finally, around 10:00 that night I couldn't take it anymore. By the time I got to the hospital the contractions were unbearable. I wanted to get in the hospital and get hooked up to my epidural as quickly as possible so I told Jason just to drop me off at the door so that I could go on in and he could go park the car. Sure enough I got a contraction before I even made it to the door of the hospital and I had to go through it all by myself with people walking all around me. Apparently, a woman crying out in pain and hanging on to a cement pillar for dear life outside the doors to the maternity ward is not as common as one would think. People were coming up to me like I should be going to the Psych ward instead! I group of guys walked by first and stopped and asked if I was okay. Very nice of them but unfortunately I was in too much pain to answer and really wanted them to just go away. About that time an older lady starts hollering at me from across the parking lot: "Honey, are you alright??". I finally got inside and walked into triage and the nurse told me to have a seat in the waiting room and that they would come and get me when a triage room opened up. I wanted to jump across the desk and shake her. Luckily, a contraction started about the time she started talking and I just laid across her desk and moaned and groaned until it was over. She decided that I didn't need to go through triage and went ahead and put me in a labor & delivery room. Brody was born a little under 5 hours after I got to the hospital. The doctor almost didn't make it into the room! I had been telling the nurse for a while that I was feeling a lot of pressure and that I felt like the baby was about to come out. She kept telling me to wait because the doctor was with another patient. When the doctor finally came in and they put my legs up in the stirrups they saw that the baby was already crowing. They helped me slide my bottom to the end of the table and his head came out! I barely pushed one time and he was out! Brody's birth was much more painful that Jayden's but it was 10 times easier. </div><div> </div><div>Brody is the best baby! He is very laid back and easygoing. Jayden has also been a great big brother. He loves his baby brother and is always checking on him and giving him kisses. Life has been hectic with two kids but I am loving every minute of it!</div></div></div></div>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-1808294094744305312009-05-06T16:44:00.000-07:002009-05-06T16:52:46.198-07:00Nine Days and CountingJason, Jayden and I went to the doctor this afternoon to "check Brody". I intentionally made the appointment with the doctor that I knew was the least conservative so that maybe he would do something to get things moving. He did not dissapoint me! He checked me and said that I was two centimeters dilated. He stripped my membranes while he was down there and then asked if I wanted him to induce me!! I had expected him to strip my membranes, which is why I asked Jason to go with us, but was not prepared for him to offer an induction. After a long discussion we decided that if I don't go into labor on my own before my due date, May 15th, he will induce me. He wants to see me on Monday and said that if I have changed my mind and want to do it earlier he will induce me on Wednesday, May 13th. I am hoping and praying that I will go into labor on my own sometime in the next few days but it is nice to know that I won't have to go past my due date if I don't want to!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-52450059149816480842009-05-01T18:55:00.001-07:002009-05-01T19:08:09.596-07:00Mommy's Big HelperAlthough we have had lots of behavior issues lately, Jayden seems to have found joy in being a helper. This week, more than ever, he has wanted to help me do everything. He wants to sit on the kitchen counter and "help me" when I'm fixing something to eat. He helps with the laundry and loves to throw trash away. We went to the grocery store on Wednesday and he walked the entire store with me instead of sitting in the cart. Usually, if I let him out of the cart in a store he bolts but this time he stayed right beside me and smiled and waved to everyone we passed. You could tell he was so proud to be walking around like a big kid! I would point to what we needed and he would get it off the shelf for me and put it in our cart (I had to help with a few things but he did most of it by himself). He has been helping me check out for the last several weeks so when we got up to the checkout lane he asked to be put into the back of the cart, as usual, and put all of the groceries on the conveyor belt for me. He even helps me push the buttons on the debit card machine! Yesterday he started helping me in a new way. I can't tell you the last time I was able to go to the bathroom alone so that's nothing new. However, yesterday Jayden started having to help me by tearing off the toilet paper himself and handing it to me. It has apparently become a very important role for him. Tonight, we went to my parents house and I thought that I was going to be able to make a potty run alone but at the last moment he ran in the bathroom saying "Mommy, wipe!" and yanked off the toilet paper to give to me. <br /><br />On a separate note, I went to the doctor on Wednesday for my weekly checkup and I am still one centimeter dilated but my cervix has thinned out to about fifty percent so I am still making progress!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-46333408459029998232009-04-30T17:45:00.001-07:002009-04-30T18:26:41.471-07:00Here Come the Clowns<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGaPRCxquT9h8H_5Tppe2_C818NqM6V1dQfeF6aMNfL79JkQ0kR0v6Z8zwFl0XN0k6r64TZuuBVPwRG171cv8duk1UkAGVWB9I2ekerj3d-V08qgd0bsufx3HfaAmYFKdpMbO5btzDJiY/s1600-h/DSC02816.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330652403051067714" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGaPRCxquT9h8H_5Tppe2_C818NqM6V1dQfeF6aMNfL79JkQ0kR0v6Z8zwFl0XN0k6r64TZuuBVPwRG171cv8duk1UkAGVWB9I2ekerj3d-V08qgd0bsufx3HfaAmYFKdpMbO5btzDJiY/s320/DSC02816.JPG" /></a> Waiting for liftoff</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheOTN9pQcjBfzfHs-BCMocIkOpGKNAP-OU5o3SCWaFRqPRZTfYQz9ru8Lwx9XngqSCngoq1ZF-F1jNHPf2nQ9Jelfg1nyAfwuIvyqo2sLSIQ4iCkJMh66eHDXOHE8YByhjkISCuIxJWOs/s1600-h/DSC02817.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330652399435968866" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheOTN9pQcjBfzfHs-BCMocIkOpGKNAP-OU5o3SCWaFRqPRZTfYQz9ru8Lwx9XngqSCngoq1ZF-F1jNHPf2nQ9Jelfg1nyAfwuIvyqo2sLSIQ4iCkJMh66eHDXOHE8YByhjkISCuIxJWOs/s320/DSC02817.JPG" /></a>Loving the helicopter<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbP7jCAPV-AOhQ1_6o8dCc_1iVTTBcgtN7Da7yWE2_Q6gC0enmDtG1sInNjlz9ybJetHhWkYuL3dsUuHUG-0ZEc3IbQeu-EWAPFTBRbjH1_tVw-xl6q1v5PLno_ewMtA7PZxC47_JBUXI/s1600-h/DSC02818.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330652394692900674" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbP7jCAPV-AOhQ1_6o8dCc_1iVTTBcgtN7Da7yWE2_Q6gC0enmDtG1sInNjlz9ybJetHhWkYuL3dsUuHUG-0ZEc3IbQeu-EWAPFTBRbjH1_tVw-xl6q1v5PLno_ewMtA7PZxC47_JBUXI/s320/DSC02818.JPG" /></a>Jayden and Mckenzie patiently waiting for their turn<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixemZK7HUr4awrxA3ljq2qKS_UbdGs9WJ6FRBUsVAqMFghjWcV0Lulx0PGcFfqujk2X5fiiyLlOx08VxOX-pAm2rpnXqfp2LwaltKZyMYXiPif9YzWPqPr2k1EJb_thWa7Ii6kVQ0UUPQ/s1600-h/DSC02821.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330652391178945650" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixemZK7HUr4awrxA3ljq2qKS_UbdGs9WJ6FRBUsVAqMFghjWcV0Lulx0PGcFfqujk2X5fiiyLlOx08VxOX-pAm2rpnXqfp2LwaltKZyMYXiPif9YzWPqPr2k1EJb_thWa7Ii6kVQ0UUPQ/s320/DSC02821.JPG" /></a>Driving the jeep with Mckenzie<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY0UPoWxEX06OnOylM7T9zye413z3xoAx7-F4QcWmbMW6ZDqPAZZUjtwnm_hzKpT_iCDszUMamS8KqaA8PBHRxPYhzhWq_3RpKih4DSksSzJZ_i1EqwOM5uj6sxgG35oy3diutkHNc9Bo/s1600-h/DSC02823.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330652386201843650" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY0UPoWxEX06OnOylM7T9zye413z3xoAx7-F4QcWmbMW6ZDqPAZZUjtwnm_hzKpT_iCDszUMamS8KqaA8PBHRxPYhzhWq_3RpKih4DSksSzJZ_i1EqwOM5uj6sxgG35oy3diutkHNc9Bo/s320/DSC02823.JPG" /></a>Feeding the goats at the petting zoo</div><div> </div><div align="left">Tuesday night we decided to take Jayden to the Circus. Papaw and Heather were taking Mckenzie and Tristan and asked if Jayden wanted to come, too. We decided to just stick to the rides instead of actually sitting through the circus (since sitting still for longer than a minute is apparently impossible for Jayden). Poor Tristan was too little to ride any of the rides but seemed to have a great time anyway. Jayden rode the cars and the four-wheelers and the helicopters (several times each). Mckenzie rode everything with him except for the helicopters. I was very hesitant to let him go on the helicopters because they actually went pretty high up in the air and I was afraid he would get scared and start trying to get out. I was wrong...it was his favorite ride of the night! He is still talking about the helicopters. He also got to go in the petting zoo which had goats, kangaroos, a porcupine and the "world's largest rodent" (which Jayden thought was a bunny rabbit and wasn't really that large yet). Squeaky the Clown rode by the petting zoo when we were on our way out and stopped to say hello. Mckenzie is not a fan of anything in costume so Jason had to rescue her and take her far away from him. But Jayden said "Hey clown!" and had no problem talking to him. Squeaky asked him if he wanted a banana and tried to hand him an empty banana peel. My child loves fruit of any kind so he really wanted that banana even though there was nothing left of it. So on top of the helicopters we are still discussing the clown's banana. We were all pretty tired by the end of the night but had a really great time together! Thanks Papaw and Heather!!<br /><br /></div><div></div></div></div><br /></div>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-23276796814056372742009-04-22T19:46:00.000-07:002009-04-22T20:18:31.395-07:00Stork StoriesWe went for my almost-37 week checkup this morning and got some very exciting news! I am one centimeter dilated! I know to most people this is not a lot and I also know that I could go another three weeks this way. However, I had been in labor for 14 hours with <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span> when we finally went to the hospital only to find out from the nurse that I was not even a full centimeter dilated! So to already be at a one when I am three weeks away is good news for me! I have been thinking a lot about <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden's</span> birth today (since it is his birthday!) so I thought I would record the story here. <br /><br /><span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span> was due on Thursday, April 19<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span> but refused to make an appearance that day. Saturday morning I woke up at 7:30 with my first contraction. I spent all day Saturday timing my increasingly painful contractions and wondering if I was actually in labor. The doctor had told me not to go to the hospital until my contractions were coming about three minutes apart for an hour. About 6:30 that evening I called my cousin (who is a nurse and childbirth educator) and told her that I had been having contractions all day but that they weren't coming in a regular pattern. She said that it might or might not be real labor and that I should try drinking a very large amount of water (24 oz or more) within five minutes or so and if the contractions stopped then I would know that I wasn't really in labor. Jason and I decided to go get something to eat at the Japanese Steakhouse and that I would try the water trick when we got back home. I ate my meal that night between contractions. When we got home I laid down on the couch with my giant bottle of water and tried to watch a movie (The Gridiron Gang) with Jason. After I drank the water the contractions started coming closer together, anywhere from five to ten minutes apart. Finally, around 11:00 I told Jason that we were going to have to go to the hospital so that I could get some pain medication and get some sleep. I really didn't think they were going to keep me since my contractions still weren't coming in a regular pattern. By the time that we got to the hospital my contractions were coming at an even 5 minutes apart. The nurse checked me and told me that I was only "a fingertip" dilated but that we were going to stay and have a baby anyway! I was shocked and scared but Jason immediately got this huge goofy grin on his face. I asked for an epidural when I was only one centimeter dilated! I wanted to get some sleep! <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span> wasn't born until 5:13 Sunday evening. He was facing the ceiling instead of the floor so they had to use forceps to help get him out. He weighed 8 lbs 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long. I had never been so in love! <br /><br />I am excited and scared all at the same time about the upcoming birth of baby Brody. I am hoping it will go much more quickly than <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden's</span> did but most of all I am just praying for a healthy baby and healthy Mommy once it is all over!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-57953273257457276172009-04-22T19:17:00.001-07:002009-04-22T19:45:01.142-07:00Happy Birthday, Jayden!<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGQfoaG5M4OQe2dO100LV3pZiSA6fWZBfT-z7fVVJ_SLKQS9_x3siiUMmcKRnYWgMZEl2HQoP3P5e0FpWmS5Cbl5Ti_yvBnmlCrP8LbaLCRUvg4wZTyLr0wUjJrWRrnPmz5si_0-m1lfI/s1600-h/DSC02759.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327706251304889586" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGQfoaG5M4OQe2dO100LV3pZiSA6fWZBfT-z7fVVJ_SLKQS9_x3siiUMmcKRnYWgMZEl2HQoP3P5e0FpWmS5Cbl5Ti_yvBnmlCrP8LbaLCRUvg4wZTyLr0wUjJrWRrnPmz5si_0-m1lfI/s320/DSC02759.JPG" /></a> Playing with his new "Choo-choo tracks"</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhioXdjK3rWysnhN1IIXEsnE1Jbw0foxjAVph1-_38peLzRhRLLQ7PirRdBUYWxHMkNkL9fvEut1uD0-1HZAGYHhUXUw29hFo0NN9q0VBhyphenhyphenBFYAHLnhN8JgiEzVY-7o6g9Z7OLfzaSDONU/s1600-h/DSC02792.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327706244317393666" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhioXdjK3rWysnhN1IIXEsnE1Jbw0foxjAVph1-_38peLzRhRLLQ7PirRdBUYWxHMkNkL9fvEut1uD0-1HZAGYHhUXUw29hFo0NN9q0VBhyphenhyphenBFYAHLnhN8JgiEzVY-7o6g9Z7OLfzaSDONU/s320/DSC02792.JPG" /></a>Mowing the grass like a little man!</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="left">Today is Jayden's second birthday. I cannot believe my baby boy is two years old! Every day he grows bigger, stronger and smarter. The past two years have flown by and it scares me to think about how quickly he will be grown up and going his own way. I tried to just sit back and enjoy my time with him today. We ate breakfast together this morning and then went to the doctor to "check Brody" (in his words). We spent the afternoon playing together and Jason even got to come home early to play with us. He had another piece of his birthday cake and blew out the candle one last time.</div><div align="left">A few things I want to remember about this age:</div><ul><li><div align="left">He has become so concerned about me, telling me to be "careful, Mommy, careful!" whenever he thinks I'm doing something unsafe or asking me "right, Mommy, right?" if he thinks I have hurt myself.</div></li><li><div align="left">He is loving all things trains. He got a Thomas the Train play set for his birthday and has woken up every morning since asking to play with the "choo-choo tracks". I even caught him singing the "Thomas and Friends" theme song and dancing in his bed one morning before I went in to get him.</div></li><li><div align="left">He loves to help me check out at the grocery store. As soon as we get to the checkout counter he wants to get in the buggy part of the cart and has to help me put everything on the conveyor belt. Then he has to help me push the buttons on the debit card machine. Once we have paid he immediately sits down in the buggy and waits for me to put the bags in. The whole way to the car he says "Thank you, Mommy, thank you!" while I tell him what a big helper he was.</div></li><li><div align="left">His Meemee sends him a lot of gifts since she lives in North Carolina and every time he plays with one of the things she has given him he says "Thank you, Meemee!" even though she's not there to hear him.</div></li></ul><p align="left">My list could go on and on. I love you sweet boy and I couldn't be more proud of you!</p><div align="center"></div>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-18010067446091217752009-04-21T11:30:00.000-07:002009-04-21T12:32:24.293-07:00Jayden's "Thomas Birthday"Sunday was Jayden's second birthday party! For some reason I can't get any of the pictures to upload so I will have to post pictures later. The theme was Thomas the Train and he has been so excited about his "Thomas Birthday". For weeks now we have had the same conversation that goes something like this:<br />Jayden: "Thomas Birthday?"<br />Me: "Yes, you are going to have a Thomas Birthday Party."<br />Jayden: "Few weeks!"<br />Me: "Yes, in a few weeks."<br />Jayden: "Two!!" (he holds up both index fingers when he says it)<br />Me: "Yes, you're going to be two years old!"<br />Jayden: "Papa!...." and then he goes through a whole list of people he expects to be there.<br />It has been so much fun planning this party since he actually knows whats going on this year! I really enjoyed the day this year, unlike last year when I put too many details off until the day of the party and was too stressed to enjoy any of it. Sunday morning, Jayden and I went to the grocery store to get some fruit for a fruit bowl, drinks and pick up his balloons. That kid was so excited about all those balloons! We got a giant balloon in the shape of James (one of Thomas' friends for those that don't know) and he had to check on it the whole way home to make sure it was still in the car with us. I fed him lunch and put him down for a nap when we got home and decorated the house while he was sleeping. I wish I had the video camera running when he came out of his room and saw all of the decorations. He was so excited about everything! <br /><div>We had about twenty people, including seven kids, to show up so we had a full house! The rain held off so the kids got to play in the yard for a while and we ate pizza and fruit (Jayden's favorites). The kids also decorated their own visor and played in the playroom downstairs. The girls were definitely more interested in decorating their visors than the boys were. Jayden enjoyed putting the stickers on his but refused to wear it. The girls either wore theirs or carried them around for the rest of the party! Next, Jayden opened his presents. After he opened each present he had to take it over to Papa who was sitting on the couch and show it to him. My Dad had a whole pile of toys sitting on the table in front of him by the time that we were done. I decided that I should have let him sit in the floor with Jayden and open the presents and I could have relaxed on the couch! Jayden did such a good job of saying thank-you to whoever gave him the gift. I was very proud of him! After presents it was time for cake. Jayden knows the birthday song and wants to sing it to different people all the time. He was very excited to have everyone singing it to him and actually sang louder than anyone else! He blew the birthday candle out not once, but three times! He made me so proud the whole day! I can't believe what a big boy he has turned into!</div><div>My parents stayed and helped me clean everything up so I have to say a big thank-you to them! I know that Jayden had worn Papa out! I am also so grateful to Jason for all of his help this past week! He had a much longer list of things to do than usual due to the fact that I am enormously pregnant! <br /><br /><br /></div><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip5uwT4QSzq1-34r1Lvv00DjOMxoNXRIe8oAVKIfvdxPxbWhFtGJM7OuZa7ZezQKYNEKzQPRNKF8I0JkKuqlQ20QVqe5X8nVNxu67fZ9XGEQlIxml1BCehlhPhv-D1D-0qrFAvjoVTHR0/s1600-h/DSC02746.JPG"></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-11470133913335297312009-04-21T11:02:00.000-07:002009-04-21T11:09:25.372-07:00Turn, Baby, Turn!Wednesday morning Jason, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span> and I headed to the doctor's office for an ultrasound to see how baby Brody is positioned. After a week of lots of prayer and encouragement from his parents, Brody decided to turn head down! It was such a relief to be able to see him again and know that he looks healthy and happy in my belly! He weighed 6 lbs 7 oz as of Wednesday so we are expecting him to be about as big as <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span> was when he was born (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span> was 8 lbs 14 oz). As far as we can tell, he looks a lot like <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span>. He has the same big lips that <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayden</span> had when he was born and the same crease in his chin. He had his hand thrown over the top part of his face and refused to move it so we didn't get so see his whole face. We'll see him soon enough! I have about three and a half weeks left and I'm getting very excited! I can't wait to meet my sweet baby boy!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-88324201625304728192009-04-21T06:29:00.000-07:002009-04-21T07:39:04.036-07:00Easter Fun<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiajBoyMdMcvH2ozzOntaIKP0OKrbObtEOvPefoNiGW1QQfvwJWdH3xu-naNJii6CgLUEmmNuLngRQBYQ_8kV-BcvYhPprYbXdPKCTU7l4a52sp_utJSCWjBQXE_crXxzIy7yzBy0ZVOeY/s1600-h/DSC02654.JPG"></a><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_7ryNdA0UyV49UIfytQc_4vhtOWFfnnvc11hbg5UlUxx1F2enDFdhFxbM6z-HEGCCFO6dntZ5Ze4umoyCuq7K8McX3iLTCYUBppjE2YMLKDMnNgbVly5oBK-2vCHuXuwIImwia0wCn98/s1600-h/DSC02651.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; Last year Jayden was sick with double ear infections and Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease so it was not a very fun day. This year, however, we were disease free and had a really great Easter weekend. Jayden spent the night with Grammy and Papa on Friday night so that Jason and I could have a date night. We ended up having dinner at the food court in the mall and walking around for a while before going to see a movie (Fast and the Furious). We even stayed out long enough to do a little shopping at Kohl's afterwards. All I could think about the whole night is that it might be our last night out for a very long time! </div><div align="left"> </div><div align="left">Jason had to work on Saturday so I slept late, did a little shopping and got a pedicure before I picked Jayden up that afternoon. When I got to my parents house he was dying Easter eggs and loving every minute of it. We had decided to forgo that activity at our house this year because we didn't think he was old enough to enjoy it, but apparently we were wrong! Grammy sent the eggs home with him in a basket and he wanted to play with them all afternoon. </div><div align="left"> </div><div align="left">Later that day we went home to make a nest for the Easter Bunny. Every year when I was growing up my Dad would dig a hole in the backyard for both my sister and I. We would pick grass and flowers out of the yard to decorate the hole for the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny would leave our Easter baskets inside for us filled with goodies but he would also leave a few treats in the nests we had decorated for him in the backyard. Jayden had so much fun walking around the yard with his basket picking grass and flowers off the trees and bushes. He would then walk over to his nest and dump the entire contents of the bucket in the hole. The Easter Bunny must have been very impressed with his work because he was very good to Jayden this year. He brought Jayden a Thomas the Train play set, foam letters for the bathtub, a package of hot wheels, and lots of eggs filled with candy and money.</div><div align="left"> </div><div align="left">Sunday morning, after we found all of the Easter Bunny's gifts we got ready for church. Jayden has been having a really hard time with church for about a year now. Two Sundays ago we moved him up to the two year old class to see if the change of scenery would help him be a little happier. So far, it hasn't worked. I stayed with him for the first fifteen minutes or so and then left to go to worship with Jason. I got to stay for about ten minutes before they paged me to come back and stay with him. Apparently, he was so inconsolable that he was slapping himself in the face and close to vomiting. </div><div align="left"> </div><div align="left">After church we went to my parents house so that Jayden could take a nap and then over to my Aunt's house for lunch with the family. Jayden ran straight to Papa, of course, and didn't leave his side for longer than a few seconds the whole afternoon. He brought his Thomas train to show everyone and had a good time playing all afternoon. He and his cousin, Maris, played and hunted Easter eggs together. Maris is eight years old and very sweet and patient with Jayden. Whenever she would leave the room he would say "Maris, are you, Maris?". It was really cute. His other cousins, Lauren and Max, couldn't be there because they have a brand new baby brother, Will, at home. </div></div></div></div><br /></div>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-82437932621117285762009-04-10T09:58:00.000-07:002009-04-10T10:16:22.015-07:00Jump, jump! After Jayden woke up from his nap yesterday we went to get his hair cut (again). I took him earlier this week but he was screaming and thrashing around so much that the lady forgot to cut the front of his hair. So, we went back yesterday for a few snips off the front. Jayden, of course, screamed and thrashed around again but it only took a minute for her to fix it. Even though he hates to get his hair cut he loves going because they have a train table. The whole way there all he talks about is playing with the choo-choo trains. I've decided that he cries and pitches such a fit because he's mad that he is having to sit there instead of playing. It took me and another lady to hold him down yesterday while he was getting those three snips. Anyway, once he was done I let him play with the trains for twenty minutes or so and we left to go home. He surprised me by nicely saying goodbye to the trains and the kids he was playing with instead of pitching another fit because we were leaving. You take your victories where you can, I guess.<br /><br />Jason called as we were driving home and asked if we wanted to meet him at Jump 4 Joey (it's an inflatables house). Brad, Jennifer, Mckenzie, Tristan, Kristina, Kayleigh and Ansley were all going to be there. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera so I didn't get to take any pictures of all the kids playing together but they had a lot of fun! I think the adults had as much fun as the kids did. I guess Jayden got brave with the other kids around because he went down the big slide all by himself! Joey, the kangaroo, made an appearance. Jayden was happy to see him at first but then got a little scared. Once I picked him up he was okay and gave Joey a high-five and blew him a kiss. So sweet! Kayleigh and Tristan both liked him but Mckenzie and Ansley were scared to death! I left early to run by the grocery store and pick up something for dinner. When I got home Jayden, Mckenzie and Tristan were playing on the slide in the backyard! I don't know where they found the energy!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-33026361636634900572009-04-09T11:22:00.000-07:002009-04-09T11:33:48.178-07:00Softball Begins<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiby9Hl5-n9rBCrUVL1tw8gVQGpjw3Um97XhtvRzP82kj3U2gSy1I5GH-xQO_RH8khMz79UxOlkYGoEuVpxNhizsu16qBiwh8VumjbsSCf-RjBeorBlVtkVMgBYmXCqSEwhVlH_hMJDAvM/s1600-h/DSC02646.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322759951640587538" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiby9Hl5-n9rBCrUVL1tw8gVQGpjw3Um97XhtvRzP82kj3U2gSy1I5GH-xQO_RH8khMz79UxOlkYGoEuVpxNhizsu16qBiwh8VumjbsSCf-RjBeorBlVtkVMgBYmXCqSEwhVlH_hMJDAvM/s320/DSC02646.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8mDS-HLaoCN5050JtArGp4PrfZMceCN8FB0EMViX0Xzqf_b3FjTD47pmYHWJ_fY4KKfPn48KxmGmsXPujc5AQTZ6L01DAoaVsI0nuDc7uGnKiBi_xDvXAFjOYMvtD_8ayI1h6wDMfOBs/s1600-h/DSC02645.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322759946603536402" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8mDS-HLaoCN5050JtArGp4PrfZMceCN8FB0EMViX0Xzqf_b3FjTD47pmYHWJ_fY4KKfPn48KxmGmsXPujc5AQTZ6L01DAoaVsI0nuDc7uGnKiBi_xDvXAFjOYMvtD_8ayI1h6wDMfOBs/s320/DSC02645.JPG" border="0" /></a>Getting sleepy<br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpv3p55iMl-68dopnKLfLutgQkmWDGYxK_N3qo-fXnbZtZWKlDyIy2BDh0jr5p36Jx_G5BDC6jUqxW24mzhH53AvxevrTu84_0PjRUwND-wA6E4J6GGafrD54Zwwf5dYMsO4iktndjaI0/s1600-h/DSC02643.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322759948519902482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpv3p55iMl-68dopnKLfLutgQkmWDGYxK_N3qo-fXnbZtZWKlDyIy2BDh0jr5p36Jx_G5BDC6jUqxW24mzhH53AvxevrTu84_0PjRUwND-wA6E4J6GGafrD54Zwwf5dYMsO4iktndjaI0/s320/DSC02643.JPG" border="0" /></a>Playing with Daddy through the fence </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="left">Jason's softball season began, officially, last night. He plays for the Cleveland Shockers, his work team. They had an exhibition game a few weeks ago but it rained the whole time so Jayden and I didn't get to go. Jayden was really excited until he got there and he realized the he wasn't going to be able to play ball with the team. Then we had a full melt-down for about five minutes until Ashley suggested that Jason bring him an extra softball to play with. He still wasn't thrilled that he didn't get to go on the field with all the other boys but he played pretty happily the rest of the night. If you had asked me two years ago who one the game I could have told you every time, but not now. You'll have to get the score from Jason:)<br /><br /><br /></div><div align="center"></div><br /></div>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-55131700915422721422009-04-09T10:52:00.000-07:002009-04-09T11:22:34.634-07:00Storytime's Easter Eggstravaganza<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihQhdiflXdK4OGNbgjGFEOHHPqfMmzslD9CK2w6-FWKC97V16qxQiJlkXPNQwfnTCEH069N0SnofkDprvyhGJUu2ytTQuRNQRPnI934j02ZxlZ3s9DcGZ9QwEiQAC983Zv6M91TRC6T0w/s1600-h/Jay+%26+Pax"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322753096238291874" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 213px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihQhdiflXdK4OGNbgjGFEOHHPqfMmzslD9CK2w6-FWKC97V16qxQiJlkXPNQwfnTCEH069N0SnofkDprvyhGJUu2ytTQuRNQRPnI934j02ZxlZ3s9DcGZ9QwEiQAC983Zv6M91TRC6T0w/s320/Jay+%26+Pax" border="0" /></a>A little male bonding with Pax </div><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQWddZ1iscjEtFnudGbHaPvnmkxhJ7loIhMHMVk6rnDtTZoxSuXMbLO0rSD-lqUYdkJbfo8nKfCQ6SZNsyJEllxV8yQO7v4uhfJpAqEfxpOk7il3NuGM0U9EQdb7gUSjbvmrlmgaD4VcM/s1600-h/Amy+%26+Anna"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322753094592116178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 213px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQWddZ1iscjEtFnudGbHaPvnmkxhJ7loIhMHMVk6rnDtTZoxSuXMbLO0rSD-lqUYdkJbfo8nKfCQ6SZNsyJEllxV8yQO7v4uhfJpAqEfxpOk7il3NuGM0U9EQdb7gUSjbvmrlmgaD4VcM/s320/Amy+%26+Anna" border="0" /></a> Me and Amy<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUa7S_zHvkS5eVR4uDdpNwqK0ydIrbXpB5Kz9KpuNXKichr2n04mkF6Km4ZQS19YH3qVx92DkWkZDuupjTQ7zqNKPV9bWWlxu7hF4-gqsq_kuk2f6iT-ZFJ3EywClYwo9nL1R_acdOK2g/s1600-h/DSC02640.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322753091584560290" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUa7S_zHvkS5eVR4uDdpNwqK0ydIrbXpB5Kz9KpuNXKichr2n04mkF6Km4ZQS19YH3qVx92DkWkZDuupjTQ7zqNKPV9bWWlxu7hF4-gqsq_kuk2f6iT-ZFJ3EywClYwo9nL1R_acdOK2g/s320/DSC02640.JPG" border="0" /></a> Amy helping Pax pick up the eggs that he loves so much!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCihc4hI30_OPUWG9E7vOepPHgs_4qMSdO28CmUyObOOVvdWjYblBvRy6GcR1eLf3w5k0ar4gQfRVk4neDUNQ65MNosfdm33WPnT9UIidTXBIAhy_CI-CmGigYy0tmbPJigijyoW8Z6iY/s1600-h/DSC02639.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322753087472927138" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCihc4hI30_OPUWG9E7vOepPHgs_4qMSdO28CmUyObOOVvdWjYblBvRy6GcR1eLf3w5k0ar4gQfRVk4neDUNQ65MNosfdm33WPnT9UIidTXBIAhy_CI-CmGigYy0tmbPJigijyoW8Z6iY/s320/DSC02639.JPG" border="0" /></a>Jayden with his Easter basket<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-Un3a-HGKxC90F4EPPfZpoC8D_4Ycny1pc43kcIsr_o2Fm6vIxDcj-NLC6RNX3QGmcOrUVwnQ9b97no7tNyS4zUJio7bV2bF0BJegt4Wwy8qxnbnqU0iRBh4mEbJvmRQSrYgH8bsFr74/s1600-h/DSC02638.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322753089227144514" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-Un3a-HGKxC90F4EPPfZpoC8D_4Ycny1pc43kcIsr_o2Fm6vIxDcj-NLC6RNX3QGmcOrUVwnQ9b97no7tNyS4zUJio7bV2bF0BJegt4Wwy8qxnbnqU0iRBh4mEbJvmRQSrYgH8bsFr74/s320/DSC02638.JPG" border="0" /></a>Finding another egg</div><div> </div><div align="left">We had a very busy day yesterday. First, we went to story time at the library and they had their big Easter celebration. Since it's spring break for teachers Mom got to come and we also met Amy, Pax and her mom, Val. We sang songs and read stories, as usual, but also had a visit from the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Hunt. Jayden was a little grouchy but was very excited about the Easter Bunny (until she came too close to him) and all of the eggs. He carried his Easter basket around all day and was so proud about it. He knew that Amy and Pax were coming to story time and said so about thirty times on the drive over. After story time we all went to lunch at Hudson's. Jayden behaved pretty well and sat next to Pax and even shared some crackers with him. Thankfully, Mom came home with us after lunch and scrubbed out my refrigerator while Jayden was napping. Thank you, Mom!! She also watched Jayden for me while I went to the doctor for a baby checkup.</div><div align="left"> </div><div align="left">I was looking forward to yesterday's doctor's appointment because I have been having some "real" contractions (the painful kind) and feeling lots of pressure "down there". I told the nurse what has been going on and my concerns that this baby is going to fall out of me five weeks early and she said that they definitely wanted to check my cervix to make sure that wasn't what was happening. The doctor did the exam and had a concerned look on his face after it was over. He said that I wasn't dilated at all which is good but that the baby has definitely dropped into my pelvis but that he thinks that he felt a "baby crack" instead of a head. He wants me to go for an ultrasound next week to make sure that the baby isn't in the breach position. If he is, he said that they could try to turn the baby externally. Above all, I just want Brody to get here healthy and in one piece. That said, I really don't want to have a c-section if I can help it! I am just worried about the recovery afterwards. I've been thinking about it and it wouldn't really surprise me if he were breach because Jayden was "sunny-side up" and had to be delivered with forceps...so it would just prove that I have stubborn kids from the beginning!! Let's just keep our fingers crossed that he decides to turn head-down by next week.<br /><br /><br /></div><div></div></div><br /></div>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-16785323680399578372009-04-09T10:34:00.000-07:002009-04-09T10:52:15.417-07:00Pleeeease....The background to this story is that we have been working really hard for a long time now to make sure that Jayden knows to say "please" and "thank you". Anytime that he demands something in an ugly way we say "how do you say that nicely?" to which he responds "pleeease". <br /><br />We have been having some crazy weather lately. After wearing sunscreen and shorts on Sunday it was back to winter weather on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday it was snowing off and on all day and just really cold so we didn't go anywhere. Jayden had been bored out of his mind all morning which is typical on a day when we don't go "bye-bye". While he was eating lunch I was watching the snow and started feeling bad that we hadn't done anything. I said, "I'm sorry we haven't gotten to do anything today but the weather is supposed to be <em>nicer</em> tomorrow" and he automatically said "pleeeease". It made me laugh:)Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-58653367143119170352009-04-09T10:18:00.000-07:002009-04-09T10:34:12.612-07:00Race Cars and Rocks<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH1_cUiu0-QwVV8gwEyBhkRQOSbe7gAlm_P1Q9l2WXiTSG9cOZTWt1XkhSt6BnA-9g6pvPezm240LiFMRNYd_yEiiqHT7ezs78Is8lG2Qf6uVCkhODv5UTWi02tq1_Bnhv3NuYwAccdiU/s1600-h/DSC_6506%5B1%5D.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322743619404837778" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 213px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH1_cUiu0-QwVV8gwEyBhkRQOSbe7gAlm_P1Q9l2WXiTSG9cOZTWt1XkhSt6BnA-9g6pvPezm240LiFMRNYd_yEiiqHT7ezs78Is8lG2Qf6uVCkhODv5UTWi02tq1_Bnhv3NuYwAccdiU/s320/DSC_6506%5B1%5D.JPG" border="0" /></a>Sitting in Papaw's <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">race car</span> </div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYtn3iT2i6L_4DUEVD9YC8whRrQSTLQQwZjJekzsNaLWkoAKescnkvCSApWcL3xOW_ALnG9qKguMs44PFkJ8nvixtYF3hrxsvGnwHtY3simTFzDK237cRfJYvIkonxmsQ-KJGTb4-rskk/s1600-h/DSC02637.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322743614936849378" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYtn3iT2i6L_4DUEVD9YC8whRrQSTLQQwZjJekzsNaLWkoAKescnkvCSApWcL3xOW_ALnG9qKguMs44PFkJ8nvixtYF3hrxsvGnwHtY3simTFzDK237cRfJYvIkonxmsQ-KJGTb4-rskk/s320/DSC02637.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDR_Jn0qI0PFm69O3HNw7L7hMAI-x7_dJGBAP7lLcX2LT8bnLuMwmsBxW0NqC0VQNZOq4sDIUvEl9gyGHPJq-I-xLWhJPWjhEl4BqWpvTunFnTtj_12idmzh8jUx01WiJrvLCW9GISElU/s1600-h/DSC02635.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322743608237217858" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDR_Jn0qI0PFm69O3HNw7L7hMAI-x7_dJGBAP7lLcX2LT8bnLuMwmsBxW0NqC0VQNZOq4sDIUvEl9gyGHPJq-I-xLWhJPWjhEl4BqWpvTunFnTtj_12idmzh8jUx01WiJrvLCW9GISElU/s320/DSC02635.JPG" border="0" /></a>Tristan, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Mckenzie</span> and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Jayden</span> watching the races </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="left">Sunday, we took Ben's <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">race car</span> to the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">drag strip</span> in Calhoun. I am not the only one in my family to be pregnant right now. I have two cousins who are due around the same time as me! Judith and Reba are both having c-sections and they have already scheduled the dates. Judith is having hers on April 22nd and Reba's is scheduled for May 15th, which is my due date! Reba and I are both having boys and they may very well have the same birthday! What's even funnier is that she and Brett are naming their baby Brady. So they will be Brody and Brady and born within days of each other. I am sure there will be a lot of love between all three of the new cousins! Anyway, we had a "ladies luncheon" at Olive Garden today in honor of the new babies. Almost all of the girls in the family were there. Jessica had to work and Lexi didn't get to come because one of her pets passed away this morning. I wasn't expecting presents but ended up getting the nicest things! I have always felt so blessed to have been born into such a loving and caring family and it makes me so happy to know that my children will grow up the same way!</div><div align="left"> </div><div align="left">Jayden stayed home with Jason again today so after lunch I snuck a few more minutes of "me time" in and got a pedicure. It was wonderful!! I am so thankful to Jason for taking care of our little man the past two Saturdays so that I could enjoy my parties and get a little girl time in. He is such a good Dad and Jayden loves to have him around! This morning when I was getting ready they wrestled on the bed and in the floor for about an hour. Jayden could play like that all day! <br /><div></div></div></div><br /></div>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-89088454888897387262009-03-27T06:48:00.000-07:002009-03-27T07:07:07.243-07:00Seven Weeks and CountingI am 33 weeks today and feeling miserable. I thought this time around would be easier because I thought that since I have been through labor before I wouldn't have any of the "is this it??" worries. Last night I seriously considered going to the emergency room because I felt like I was having contractions for over an hour. They didn't feel like <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">braxton</span> hicks contractions to me. My stomach would get tight and I would have pain that spread from my back all the way around to my pelvic area. That's what REAL labor pains felt like with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Jayden</span>. The contractions last night didn't hurt nearly as bad as when I was in labor with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Jayden</span> but they still hurt enough to wake me up from sleep a few times. I don't want to have my baby 7 weeks early (and I'm sure I won't)! It's just scary and frustrating because I thought it would be easier this time.<br /><br />On a separate note, I'm going to brag about <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Jayden</span> a little bit. He is getting so smart! Here are a few things he can do:<br />Sing his ABC's (pretty <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">accurately</span> and in tune!)<br />Count to 13<br />Identify the colors Blue, Green, Red, Orange and Purple<br />He has memorized several of his books (Goodnight Moon is one of them and he has to find the mouse on each page)<br />I'm so proud to have such a sweet, smart boy!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-87970154375559157952009-03-26T11:29:00.000-07:002009-03-26T11:42:52.877-07:00Shake and SlideIt has rained for two days straight but we have had fun anyway. Yesterday morning we went to storytime at the library. Jayden loves to go because of the songs that they sing. Every week they sing the same three songs: "Shake your sillies out", "Happy and you know it" and "Head, shoulders, knees and toes". He knows all the words and even does the hand motions to go along with them. He calls storytime "shake" because of the first song and when we are leaving he always waves to the room and says "bye, shake!". It is too cute. That said, he does not care for the actual stories. They normally read three stories and he just can't sit through them. I usually bribe him with snacks during that part. <br /><br />When we woke up this morning and it was still raining I decided that we were going to make a trip to Jump 4 Joey. Jayden loves going there but usually makes me carry him up all of the slides which is pretty much out of the question right now since I am almost 33 weeks pregnant. Jason has gone with us the last couple of times to help out and it seems to have made Jayden more independent. He still wanted me to play with him but he climbed up all of the slides and went down them by himself. Even the really steep one that I have a hard time doing when I'm not pregnant! I was so proud of my big boy. He is growing up so fast!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-85134215876494821402009-03-26T11:09:00.000-07:002009-03-26T11:29:22.623-07:00Diaper Shower<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLiXio6qGogUKCa2GkCkAwLwsTNxHzKB5cKFiLMLveqCJeKwLsIWK-Ebl_2kWrWBw8LSv0zjPzLnUYfC9XN_fsCerD7WQDz67EcgdhkHFekGnH8wuDARmEuJIbmTWwHAZRPz0XlZFwKws/s1600-h/DSC02623.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317562957269614018" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLiXio6qGogUKCa2GkCkAwLwsTNxHzKB5cKFiLMLveqCJeKwLsIWK-Ebl_2kWrWBw8LSv0zjPzLnUYfC9XN_fsCerD7WQDz67EcgdhkHFekGnH8wuDARmEuJIbmTWwHAZRPz0XlZFwKws/s320/DSC02623.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg59yMzOlSwF7F1Tfoq0zKvTElq8_XHd05vUFOfTt4G4vHaoYYj5yDwMO0QTcrgjP0hypFQNRZBkd6Ewd4s29pgV54NOkKDue5FZTCdwg1y-LB5pT1tQckE9ejBxbLjhawWN2PhHXTP0vc/s1600-h/DSC02622.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317562951733593202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg59yMzOlSwF7F1Tfoq0zKvTElq8_XHd05vUFOfTt4G4vHaoYYj5yDwMO0QTcrgjP0hypFQNRZBkd6Ewd4s29pgV54NOkKDue5FZTCdwg1y-LB5pT1tQckE9ejBxbLjhawWN2PhHXTP0vc/s320/DSC02622.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqnhwN0EjYHiYShnh99ROT9gV-ZN6EFoHOC9dByYIxDo3Uo_rKA6syoyCy6uZh-U74UZJ62Rv-VxiU7zF5GJpyX__HzxLw0TBEIIYPRH12XEBFGf_mrZ6I5JdFk1gJOu67ZjhDaxOZNzA/s1600-h/DSC02620.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317562258165746530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqnhwN0EjYHiYShnh99ROT9gV-ZN6EFoHOC9dByYIxDo3Uo_rKA6syoyCy6uZh-U74UZJ62Rv-VxiU7zF5GJpyX__HzxLw0TBEIIYPRH12XEBFGf_mrZ6I5JdFk1gJOu67ZjhDaxOZNzA/s320/DSC02620.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguj1srZhvSKrkdaswN3KLsXn4ennwZdWjtssTX7cMrx9L_og_eaqiQNoxMLWq4jBzMdwsnhb_4UC45fAC2nlDnHihkTJafyy8kln7aeXCYeLEAUn3DQdzOFrpn8ceQF05xLPoCrxIId7w/s1600-h/DSC02615.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317562253743177906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguj1srZhvSKrkdaswN3KLsXn4ennwZdWjtssTX7cMrx9L_og_eaqiQNoxMLWq4jBzMdwsnhb_4UC45fAC2nlDnHihkTJafyy8kln7aeXCYeLEAUn3DQdzOFrpn8ceQF05xLPoCrxIId7w/s320/DSC02615.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvCIHnri8c7jNsu5cb3wBaKRw5wONXaoCMEXXr18YYwUCuC1L1XoeF6lJ8nI8GxkfdKQKPgAeppH7p2lCL7iIreiMQkB3XFKtW_6pwIEh6jxMYf9_NcICH_5NvzhN2nGSLhclNryL3D-o/s1600-h/DSC02619.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317562251502978210" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvCIHnri8c7jNsu5cb3wBaKRw5wONXaoCMEXXr18YYwUCuC1L1XoeF6lJ8nI8GxkfdKQKPgAeppH7p2lCL7iIreiMQkB3XFKtW_6pwIEh6jxMYf9_NcICH_5NvzhN2nGSLhclNryL3D-o/s320/DSC02619.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtlXiwzNdfsZXEIRF5mmAaEBqNRVjez97MqTZKQGKTE-fTsmoNQ-SayocBCzj7Lb3_B-s9Z5C9YUvVh8H0VMUa_NXb3rH_vEQ5l3mqwDrCN4uiOpWLzV_RkGv_QaQCr2ncC_9iy_IO-qk/s1600-h/DSC02616.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317562252272274546" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtlXiwzNdfsZXEIRF5mmAaEBqNRVjez97MqTZKQGKTE-fTsmoNQ-SayocBCzj7Lb3_B-s9Z5C9YUvVh8H0VMUa_NXb3rH_vEQ5l3mqwDrCN4uiOpWLzV_RkGv_QaQCr2ncC_9iy_IO-qk/s320/DSC02616.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div align="left"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU5IAC7RVaXg88Rw3vIGrXyi536Ily97F7QKwNvmF5rURDeXmXcBZFq5RClLwac7js7t31uDGDG8LDK81USEV1DpwYu2R7u0By95vByRn1xunA-EoRmeLzBhgycqkWyzbaKH2GGIz674k/s1600-h/DSC02624.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317562242298816018" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU5IAC7RVaXg88Rw3vIGrXyi536Ily97F7QKwNvmF5rURDeXmXcBZFq5RClLwac7js7t31uDGDG8LDK81USEV1DpwYu2R7u0By95vByRn1xunA-EoRmeLzBhgycqkWyzbaKH2GGIz674k/s320/DSC02624.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Last Saturday, Heather hosted a diaper shower for myself and new baby Brody. I am really going to do better! We are expecting a baby boy, Brody Clay, in mid-May. This pregnancy has flown by so quickly! I have eight weeks left before I can see my new little man and I am so ready! I'm not sure how excited <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Jayden</span> will be about his little brother at first but I am sure that they will love each other and be great friends eventually. <br /><br /><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Jayden</span> made a new friend today. We have a new <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">play set</span> in the backyard and he has wanted to spend all of his time out there the past few days. We went out this morning and he played for a while and the whole time Miguel, the little boy from next door, was trying his hardest to get <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Jayden's</span> attention. Finally, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Jayden</span> noticed the dog in his yard and went over to the fence. They talked and played with the fence between them for almost an hour and then we came inside for lunch and a nap. We went back out when <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Jayden</span> woke up and they played for another hour and a half. They were passing toys through the fence and being so nice to each other. Miguel is four and seems to be very patient with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Jayden</span>. I could hear him telling <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Jayden</span> that "Birds have to eat worms. Birds will die if they don't eat worms." to which <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">Jayden</span> responded with a big "Uh-HUH". They were too cute! Jason had to work tonight so <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">Jayden</span> and I went out to dinner so that he could take a nap. We went to Mellow Mushroom and split a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">calzone</span> and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">Jayden</span> was just so sweet the whole time. He didn't have any meltdowns and gave me lots of <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12">lovin</span>'. When we were almost ready to go he put his hands on my cheeks and gave me a big kiss on the mouth. That's the kind of moment that I want to hold onto forever! When I told him it was time to go he started telling the whole <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13">restaurant</span> bye-bye. There was a girl cleaning off the table next to us and she said "bye-bye" back to him and he blew her a kiss. He's a flirt already!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-8933531494835691772008-06-19T13:46:00.000-07:002008-06-19T14:00:56.982-07:00Frustrated and Feeling GuiltyEvery time I think that I've got a schedule figured out Jayden changes it all around. He has been taking two naps a day for the last several months now. Then, then sometime last week he started taking his morning nap and then refusing to take an afternoon nap for 3 days straight. Since I would rather him take an afternoon nap and not be a terror in the evening I started skipping his morning nap and laying him down after lunch for an afternoon nap. We did that for 4 or 5 days and it worked fine except that he spent half the morning rubbing his eyes and whining because he was so tired. So 2 days ago I started putting him down for his morning nap 2 hours after he wakes up in the morning and then for an afternoon nap about 3 hours after he wakes up from the first nap. This is pretty much what we were doing before and it has worked just fine for the last 2 days. Today he woke up at 7:00 a.m. so I put him down for a nap at 9:00. He slept until about 10:45 (which is normal...he usually sleeps for about 1 hr 30 mins each nap). We had plans to go to lunch with Ashley so she showed up at 11:00 and we went to eat Mexican (yummy). Jayden had a great time talking to the waitress & playing with Ashley. We got back to the house around 12:45 and played for a while. I could tell that he was getting sleepy again because he was walking in circles & rubbing his eyes. Even Ashley pointed out that he looked like he was tired so I know I'm not crazy. She left and I layed him down for a nap at 1:45....and he refused to go to sleep!! I left him in there for about 15 minutes & then went in to check on him and he had pooped. I changed his diaper & then went in 2 more times after that to try to rock him to sleep and nothing worked. So I finally just layed him in the bed & decided that he would have to lay there until 4:00. At 10 minutes to 4:00 he is perfectly silent & I look at him on the monitor and he is sound asleep. Which means that as of right now he has been in his bed for over 3 hours! It's not like he was crying, just talking and playing, but I still feel guilty that he has been in there by himself for so long. And now it is almost 5:00 and he is still sleeping and I don't want him to be up late tonight!! Trying to figure out his schedule is so frustrating!! He actually just woke up though so....Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491167969186050440.post-45971583181659589182008-06-18T11:27:00.000-07:002009-03-20T17:55:30.009-07:00So much to say, so little timeI wanted to start this blog so that I can keep up with all the new things my beautiful baby boy is doing each day. Jayden will be 14 months old on the 22nd and I can't believe it! The first year of his life has gone by so fast. I think that he is getting another tooth in. He has four on the top and two on the bottom right now. Jason & I have tried to look inside his mouth to see if anything is trying to poke through but it is impossible to see anything. We went walking with Amy & Paxton this morning. Jayden said Amy's name for the first time. Apparently, her name is officially "Mamie" now. He is saying so many things: ducky, baby, bye-bye, kitty, doggy, Phoebe, Papa, ball, cookie, eat, hey, passy, baba and of course mama & dada. He can also say & point to your eyes, nose, ear, hair and teeth! We went to Subway for lunch on the way home & he was talking to everyone. There was one girl that worked there that he kept trying to feed his luch to. I hope that he stays so friendly and outgoing. I was always really shy and it's nice to see him so brave! Well, I know he is going to wake up from his nap any minute & Jason is about to get home from work so I have to get busy!!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17209361251537971951noreply@blogger.com
